Note

Adding Stock Solutions To A Robot Rack

This adds new reagents to the Tube field from the Stock Solutions lab resource.

  1. Open the lab resource Robot Rack window in the Board by clicking OptionsLab ResourcesRobot Racks.
  2. Open the lab resource Stock Solution window in the Board by clicking OptionsLab ResourcesStock Solutions.
  3. Search for Stock Solutions by executing a Search By Owner, By Date, or By List.
  4. Select the reagent to be added in the upper part of the Stock Solution window and drag and drop it to the the Robots Rack window's Title bar.

Note

Save As New Robot Rack

This saves the Robot Rack as new in the database.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Save As New Robot Rack.

Note

Save Robot Rack

This saves the Robot Rack in the database.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Save Robot Rack.

Note

Delete Robot Rack

This deletes the Robot Rack from the database.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Delete Robot Rack.
  3. Click Remove Robot Rack in 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Note

Refresh Robot Rack

This reverts the data for the Robot Rack to the version in the database.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Refresh Robot Rack.

Note

Clear Robot Rack

This clears the Robot Rack data, i.e. the bottom part of the Robot Rack window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Clear Robot Rack.

Close Robot Rack

This closes the window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Close Robot Rack, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Refresh Batch No

This closes the window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Close Robot Rack, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Print Barcodes

This will print a barcode for this Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Robot Rack menu click Print Barcodes.
  3. In the upper part of the 'Barcode Printer' pop up select the type of barcode that you wish to create.
  4. Fill out the bottom part of the 'Barcode Printer' pop up.
    • Suffixes defines a suffix to add to the barcode.
    • User Data is a User-defined String that could be added to the printer.
    • Barcode Printer is a list of barcode printers identified in Sesame.
    • No. of Copies is the number of copies of the barcode to print.
  5. Click the OK button to print.

Search By Owner

This searches the Robot Rack records of the Default Lab and returns the ones that fit the search criteria in the upper part of the Robot Rack window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Search menu click By Owner.
  3. Set the search criteria in 'Search by Owner' popup.
    • Owner is the User Name of the person who created the Robot Rack. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Robot Rack Name is the name of the Robot Rack. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Makers No is the manufacturer's identifier for the Robot Rack. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Type is the Lab Resources Type for the Robot Rack.
    • Status is the Lab Resources Status for the Robot Rack.
    • Choosable controls if the Robot Rack is selectable in other Views.
  4. Click Search in the search popup.

Search By Date

This searches the Robot Rack records of the Default Lab and returns the ones that fit the search criteria in the upper part of the Robot Rack window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Search menu click By Date.
  3. Set the search criteria in 'Search by Date' popup.
    • Created By is the User Name of the person who created the Action Map. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Created Start Date is the earliest date the Action Map was created. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Created End Date is the latest date the Action Map was created. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Modified By is the User Name of the person who last modified the Action Map. Wildcard Characters are allowed.
    • Modified Start Date is the earliest date of the last modification of the Action Map. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Modified End Date is the latest date of the last modification of the Action Map. To set it to an '*', click on it, then clear, or enter an '*', into any of the Year, Month or Day fields.
    • Type is the Lab Resources → Type for the Robot Rack.
    • Status is the Lab Resources → Status for the Robot Rack.
  4. Click Search in the search popup.

Search By List

This searches the Robot Rack records of the Default Lab and returns the ones that fit the search criteria in the upper part of the Robot Rack window.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Search menu click By List.
  3. Set the search criteria in 'Search by List' popup.
    • DB# List is the list of Robot Rack Nos. The numbers in the list can be separated by space, tab, comma, semicolumn, or end of line. Alternatively, if there are DBNo List (LI) records for Robot Racks, they can be selected from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Search in the search popup.

Report

This creates a Text report for the Robot Rack, and shows it in the Board.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Report menu click Report.

Text Report All

This creates a Text report for every Robot Rack in the Default Lab and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. On the Report menu click Text Report All.
  3. If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
  4. In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
  5. Click Save.

Record XML Dump

This creates an XML dump for the Robot Rack record, and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Record XML Dump.
  3. Set the values in 'XML Report' popup.
    • Inline DTD determines if the Document Type Definition (DTD) should be included in the file.
    • Formatting (indents and newlines) determines if the resulting file should be formatted.
    • File Name is the name of the file. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Save' popup.
      • If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
      • In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
      • Click Save.
  4. Click Report.

Bulk XML Dump

This creates an XML report for every Robot Rack in the Default Lab and saves it to the disk.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Bulk XML Dump.
  3. Set the values in 'XML Report' popup.
    • Inline DTD determines if the Document Type Definition (DTD) should be included in the file.
    • Formatting (indents and newlines) determines if the resulting file should be formatted.
    • File Name is the name of the file. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Save' popup.
      • If you want to save the file in a different folder, locate and open the folder.
      • In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
      • Click Save.
  4. Click Report.

Add File

This uploads one or more Files from the disk and attaches them to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field.
  3. Set the values in 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the user label.
    • Format determines if one or more Files will be added. To set it, click on the field, then click the format that you want to use.
      • File if only the selected File will be added.
      • Folder if all the Files from the selected Folder will be added.
      • Folder with Subfolders if all the Files from the selected Folder and all the Subfolders will be added.
    • File Name is the name of the file or folder depending on the selected Format. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Select File' popup.
      • In the Look in list, click the drive or folder that contains the Files you want to add.
      • In the folder list, locate the folder that contains the Files, and if the Format is File, open it.
      • Click the File if the Format is File, otherwise click the folder.
      • Click Select File.
    • File Type is the Lab Resources File Type of the File.
  4. Click Add File.

Note

Add File from the Web

This gets a File from the Web and attaches it to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field.
  3. Set the values in 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the user label.
    • URL is the Web address of the File. Only the HTTP URL scheme is supported, and it must include the 'http://' prefix.
    • File Type is the Lab Resources File Type of the File.
  4. Click Add File.

Note

Display File in the Board

This displays a File attached to the Robot Rack in the Board.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select a File (a row) in the Files field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field, or
    • drag a File (a row) from the Files field to an open area of the Board and drop it, or
    • double-click on a File (a row) in the Files field.

Note

Display File in its Associated Application

This opens a File attached to the Robot Rack using its associated application.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select a File (a row) in the Files field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field, or
    • right-click on a File (a row) in the Files field.
  3. Click OK in 'Open with...' popup.

Edit File User Label And Type

This updates the User Label and the File Type for a File attached to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field.
  3. Set the values in 'Edit File Information' popup.
    • User Label is the user label.
    • File Type is the Lab Resources File Type of the File.
  4. Click Update.

Save File

This saves Files attached to the Robot Rack to the disk.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field.
  3. If you want to save the File in a different folder, locate and open the folder, or, in the File Name box, type the name for the folder.
  4. Click Save.

Remove File

This removes a File from the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files field.
  3. Click Remove File in 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Link File

This adds a File already attached to a record to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window visible in the Board.
  2. Make the other window that contains the record that has the File already attached active in the Board.
  3. Select a File (a row) in the Files field of the other record, then drag and drop it to the Robot Rack window's Title bar.

Add Image

This uploads one or more Images from the disk and attaches them to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images field.
  3. Set the values in 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the user label.
    • Format determines if one or more Images will be added. To set it, click on the field, then click the format that you want to use.
      • File if only the selected Image will be added.
      • Folder if all the Images from the selected Folder will be added.
      • Folder with Subfolders if all the Images from the selected Folder and all the Subfolders will be added.
    • File Name is the name of the file or folder depending on the selected Format. To set it, click on the field, then set the values in the 'Select Image' popup.
      • In the Look in list, click the drive or folder that contains the Images you want to add.
      • In the folder list, locate the folder that contains the Images, and if the Format is File, open it.
      • Click the Image if the Format is File, otherwise click the folder.
      • Click Select Image.
  4. Click Add Image.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images field.

    • User Label is the user label.
  4. Click Update.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select an Image (a row) in the Images field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images field.
  3. If you want to save the Image in a different folder, locate and open the folder, or, in the File Name box, type the name for the folder.
  4. Click Save.

This removes an Image from the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select an Image (a row) in the Images field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images field.
  3. Click Remove Image in 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Link Image

This adds an Image already attached to a record to the Robot Rack.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window visible in the Board.
  2. Make the other window that contains the record that has the Image already attached active in the Board.
  3. Select an Image (a row) in the Images field of the other record, then drag and drop it to the Robot Rack window's Title bar.

Show Stock Solution

This displays the selected Stock Solution in the Board.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Tube table.
  3. Click on ICON the symbol.

Add Empty Row

This adds a new empty row to the Tube table as a placeholder for an empty slot.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Tube field.

Move Row Up

This moves the selected tubes up in the Tube table.

  1. Select the row(s) to be moved.
  2. Click the ICON button to move the row(s) up.

Move Row Down

This moves the selected tubes down in the Tube table.

  1. Select the row(s) to be moved.
  2. Click the ICON button to move the row(s) down.

Remove Stock Solution from the Robot Rack

This removes the selected row from the Tube table.

  1. Make the Robot Rack window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Tube field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Tube field.
