Note

New EM Screen View

This opens a new EM Screen window in the Board.

  1. To create a new EM Screen view,
    • In the Main Window, go to OptionsNew ViewEM Screen (EM), or
    • In the Board, when an EM Screen window is active, go to EM ScreenNew EM Screen, or
    • Following a search for an EM Screen record, drag-and-drop to the Board the EMSCREEN ( . ) root node of a tree resulting from the search, or double-click on it.

Note

Save As New EM Screen

This saves the EM Screen as a new entry in the database.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Save As New EM Screen, or click the Save As New EM Screen button in the button bar.

Save As New Child EM Screen

This saves the EM Screen as a new entry in the database, with the current entry as a linked item.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Save As New Child EM Screen, or click the Save As New Child EM Screen button in the button bar.

Save EM Screen

This saves the EM Screen in the database.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Save EM Screen, or click the Save EM Screen button in the button bar.

Delete EM Screen

This removes the EM Screen from the database.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Delete EM Screen.
  3. If you are sure you want to remove the EM Screen from the database, Click OK.

Note

Refresh EM Screen

This reverts the data for the EM Screen to the version in the database.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Refresh EM Screen.
  3. Click Refresh in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Note

Close EM Screen

This closes the window.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Close EM Screen, or click the X button on the window's Title bar.

Show All Cells

This shows all Fields, including the hidden ones, in the EM Screen view.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Show all Cells.

Show Lab Visible Cells

This hides the originally hidden Fields in the EM Screen view; i.e., any fields hidden by a lab master, then revealed by Show all Cells, will again be hidden.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Show Lab Visible Cells.

Print Barcodes

This will print a label, including a barcode, for this EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. On the EM Screen menu click Print Barcodes.
  3. Select, from the list in the upper window, the type of barcode that you wish to create.
  4. Fill out the pop up.
    • Suffixes defines a suffix to add to the barcode.
    • User Data is a user-defined string that can be added to the label.
    • Barcode Printer is a list of barcode printers identified in Sesame.
    • No. of Copies is the number of copies of the barcode to print.
  5. Click the OK button to print.

Create Crystal Records

This creates Crystal (CR) Records for the chosen EM Screen wells.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Highlight the desired well(s) in the Droplets or Scores table.
  3. Go to EM ScreenCreate Crystal Records.
    • Fill in the fields in the popup
      • Status is a dropdown list of crystal Status choices maintained by the lab master.
      • Type is a dropdown list of crystal Type choices maintained by the lab master.
      • User Label is a typeable field for labeling the crystal.
      • Lab Protocol is the procedure to be applied to the crystal, chosen from a dropdown list maintained by the lab master.
      • SeMet is a checkbox indicating that the protein in the crystal is Selenomethionine labeled.
      • Native is a checkbox indicating that the protein in the crystal is unlabeled.
      • Protocol Tree is a hierarchy of labeled fields to describe a crystal or a process carried out with a crystal. A protocol tree can be constructed by the user for each individual Crystal Record or can be pre-constructed default field names and values as part of a Lab Protocol.
  4. Click Create.

Create Screen Table

This creates a new EM Screen table in the Screen tab.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Make sure in the General tab a Plate Type is chosen.
  3. In the Screen tab, click EditCreate Screen Table or the Create Screen Table button.
  4. Fill in the Create Screen Table popup;
    • Numbers entered into the Precipitant, Salt, Buffer, Additive, pH Adjuster, Buffered Precipitant, Lipid, or Detergent fields will result in the creation of that number of 'column groups' (each containing component name, concentration, unit, volume, and batch no. columns) describing that class of component, e.g., entering '2' in the Precipitant field result in 2 Precipitant column groups in which the 2 precipitants in the well can be described.
    • Enter a number in the No of Wells to indicate the number of rows in the table, where each row represents a well in the plate.
    • Enter Total Volume in Well (in ul).
    • Enter Mix Cycles.
    • Enter pH.
  5. Click Create.

Note

Clear Screen Table

This removes an existing EM Screen table from the Screen tab.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Choose the Screen tab.
  3. Go to EditClear Screen Table.
  4. If you are sure you want to clear the screen table, Click OK.

Note

Add Component

This adds an additional column group of the selected type to the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Screen tab go to EditAdd Component.
  3. In the popup choose the desired component and click OK.

Note

Delete Component

This removes the last column group of the selected type from the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Screen tab go to EditDelete Component.
  3. In the popup choose the component type to be deleted.
  4. Click OK in the confirmation popup.

Add Row to Screen

This adds a new row, representing a well in a physical plate, to the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Screen tab go to EditAdd Row to Screen.

Clone Rows in Screen

This copies selected row(s) in the screen table and creates new, identical row(s).

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and highlight the row(s) to be cloned.
  3. Go to EditClone Rows in Screen.

Remove Rows from Screen

This removes row(s) from the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and highlight the row(s) to be deleted.
  3. Go to EditRemove Rows from Screen.
  4. Click OK in the confirmation popup.

Move Up (Screen Tab)

This moves the selected row(s) up for a row in the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and highlight the row(s) to be moved.
  3. Go to EditMove Up.

Move Down (Screen Tab)

This moves the selected row(s) down for a row in the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and highlight the row(s) to be moved.
  3. Go to EditMove Down.

Calculate Volumes

This calculates the volume of each component to be added to the well, based on the concentration of the stock solutions, final concentrations, and Total Volumes.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab.
  3. After choosing the desired components, concentrations, units, and total volume for each well, click EditCalculate Volumes.

Append Screen

This appends a previously created screen table onto the bottom of the current screen table, making it easier to reuse old screens while building new ones.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and EditAppend Screen.
  3. Fill in the fields in the Append Screen popup;
    • Screen No is the Database No of the EM Screen to be appended.
    • Concentration Scaling is the degree to which concentrations are to be changed from the original EM Screen (e.g. '2' will double concentrations, 0.5 will cut them in half) that will be appended.
    • Total Volume is the final volume of each well for the appended EM Screen wells.
  4. Click OK.

Add Screen

This adds the components in a previously created screen table to wells in the current screen table, making it easier to use old screens as a template for new ones.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and EditAdd Screen.
  3. Fill in the fields in the Add Screen popup;
    • Screen No is the Database No of the EM Screen to be added.
    • Concentration Scaling is the degree to which all concentrations are to be changed from the original EM Screen (e.g. '2' will double concentrations, 0.5 will cut them in half) that will be added.
    • Starting Row No is the first row in the current screen table to which new components will be added.
    • Tile, when checked, repeats the addition of components until the end of the current screen table (i.e. a 24 well screen will be added four times to a 96 well screen to fill it completely).
  4. Click OK

Screen Optimization

This creates a new screen designed to optimize hits obtained in a previous screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab and highlight wells (rows) to be optimized.
  3. Click EditScreen Optimization.
  4. In the popup;
    • Stock Solutions contains choices of racks from which to draw solutions.
    • The Optimization table initially contains values from the wells selected in Step 2; these should be altered as desired for the new screen.
      • Stock Solution is the stock solution to be used to make up the optimized screen.
      • Concentration sets the final concentration of each component in the well. They can be entered either by;
        • CSV list, a Comma Separated Values list, i.e., a series of concentrations separated by commas, or
        • Loop allows entry of a low and a high concentration and the steps between them (e.g., 1-10 mM by 2 mM steps).
      • Unit is the concentration unit of a component.
    • The Optimization table is manipulated using a set of buttons to the right.
      • ICON Adds a row to the Optimization table.
      • ICON Removes the selected row from the Optimization table.

Add Droplet Additive

This adds an additional Droplet Additive column group to the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab.
  3. Click on EditAdd Droplet Additive.

Delete Droplet Additive

This deletes the last Droplet Additive column group from the screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab.
  3. Go to EditDelete Droplet Additive.
  4. Choose OK in the popup.

Clear Droplet

This clears the droplet related information between wells x and y.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Screen tab.
  3. Go to the EditClear Droplet.
  4. In the Select popup, modify the First Well Coord and Last Well Coord columns if the Clear should not be applied to all wells.
  5. Click Continue.

Stock Solution Selector

This allows selection of various robot racks to restrict the lists of stock solutions to be made available in the dropdown lists when making up a screen table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Choose the Screen tab.
  3. Go to EditStock Solution Selector.
  4. In the Stock Solution Selector popup, choose the desired set of stock solutions using the checkboxes in the Selected column; checking multiple boxes is additive.
  5. Click Set.

Note

Refresh Batch No

This updates Stock Solution Batch Numbers in a screen table to reflect any updates in the Stock Solutions, a Lab Resource, records.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Screen or Droplets tab go to EditRefresh Batch No.
  3. Click OK in the confirmation popup.

Add Scoring Column

This adds a crystallization scoring column to the Scores table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to the Scores tab.
  3. Go to EditAdd Scoring Column.

Remove Last Scoring Column

This removes the last scoring column in a Scores Table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Scores tab choose EditRemove Last Scoring Column.
  3. Click OK in the confirmation popup.

This creates a text report for the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Generate Report for EM Screen.

Record XML Dump

This saves an XML report of the EM Screen to the disk.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the Report menu click Record XML Dump.
  3. Fill out the pop up.
    • Inline DTD determines if the DTD (Document Type Definition) should be included in the File.
    • Formatting determines if new lines and spaces should be included in the File.
    • File Name defines the name of the File to be saved.
  4. Click the Save File button.

Note

Report Required Stocks

This lists stock solutions and volumes required for the screen that are IN and that are NOT IN selected robot racks.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to ReportRequired Stocks.
  3. In the popup, select the desired rack(s) using the checkboxes in the Selected column.
  4. Click Report.

This exports the contents of the Screen and Score tables to a .csv file that can be opened as a spreadsheet.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Go to ReportCSV Dump.

Export Screen To CSV

This exports the selected rows of a Screen table to a .csv file that can be opened as a spreadsheet.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Highlight rows in the Screen table to be exported.
  3. Go to ReportExport Screen to CSV.
  4. In the popup, choose a location to save the file and a file name, or use the default values.
  5. Click Save.

Export Droplet Scores To CSV

This exports the selected rows of a Scores table to a .csv file that can be opened as a spreadsheet.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Highlight rows in the Scores table to be exported.
  3. Click ReportExport Droplet Scores to CSV.
  4. In the popup, choose a location to save the file and a file name, or use the default values.
  5. Click Save.

Note

Gilson Robot

This creates a crystallization screen setup worklist for a Gilson Robot.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the popup, click on checkboxes to select racks containing the solutions needed.
  3. In the popup, click on one and only one Barcode checkbox to include the barcode associated with a rack in the worklist, so that a robot can confirm that the correct rack is used.
  4. Click Report.
  5. In the popup, assign a protein source for the droplet.
  6. Click Report.

Tecan Robot

This creates a crystallization screen setup worklist for a Tecan Robot.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. In the popup, click on checkboxes to select racks containing the solutions needed.
  3. Click Report.

Add Action

This adds a new Action to the Actions Field.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Actions Field.
  3. In the popup, click the Add Action checkbox for the Sample-ORF rows the action will be added to.
  4. In the popup, choose an Action from the Actions drop-down.
  5. Click Add Actions.

Note

Remove the Last Action

This removes the most recently applied Action from the Action table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Actions Field.
  3. In the popup, click the Remove Action checkbox for the Sample-ORF rows the last action will be removed from.
  4. Click Remove.

Add Amount

This adds an amount to the EM Screen balance.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Amount field.
  3. Enter values in 'Add Amount' popup.
    • Amount Added is the amount that will be added to the Amount Balance.
    • Unit is the unit for the Amount Change and the Amount Balance. The list of unit choices is maintained by the lab master.
    • Description is the reason for the change.
  4. Click OK in the 'Add Amount' popup.

Subtract Amount

This subtracts an amount from the EM Screen balance.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Amount field.
  3. Enter values in 'Subtract Amount' popup.
    • Amount Taken is the amount that will be subtracted from the Amount Balance.
    • Unit is the unit for the Amount Change and the Amount Balance. The list of unit choices is maintained by the lab master.
    • Description is the reason for the change.
  4. Click OK in the 'Subtract Amount' popup.

Add External Reference

This adds a new row to the External References Field.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the External References Field.
  3. Choose an External Reference Name from the dropdown or type it in, and type in the ID.

Display External Reference

This opens the selected row from the External References table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the External References Field.
  3. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the External References Field.

Remove External Reference

This removes the selected row from the External References table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the External References Field.
  3. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the External References Field.

Add File

This uploads one or more Files from the disk and attaches them to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the User label.
    • Format determines if one or more Files will be added. To set it, click on the Field, then click the format that you want to use.
      • File if only the selected File will be added.
      • Folder if all the Files from the selected Folder will be added.
      • Folder with Subfolders if all the Files from the selected Folder and all the Subfolders will be added.
    • File Name is the name of the File or Folder depending on the selected Format. To set it, click on the Field, then set the values in the 'Select File' popup.
      • In the Look in drop-down, click the drive or Folder that contains the Files you want to add.
      • Specify whether the Format is a File, Folder, or Folder with Subfolders.
      • Click Select File.
    • File Type is a list of File Types maintained by the lab master.
  4. Click Add File.

Add File from the Web

This takes a File from the Web and attaches it to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the User label.
    • URL is the Web address of the File. Only the HTTP URL scheme is supported, and it must include the 'http://' prefix.
    • File Type is a list of File Type maintained by the lab master.
  4. Click Add File.

Display File in the Board

This displays a File attached to the EM Screen in the Board.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select a File (a row) in the Files Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field, or
    • drag a File (a row) from the Files Field to an open area of the Board and drop it, or
    • double-click on a File (a row) in the Files Field.

Display File in its Associated Application

This opens a File attached to the EM Screen using its associated application.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select a File (a row) in the Files Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field, or
    • right-click on a File (a row) in the Files Field.
  3. Click OK in the the popup.

Edit File User Label And Type

This updates the User Label and the File Type for a File attached to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. Set the values in 'Edit File Information' popup.
    • User Label is the User label.
    • File Type is the Lab Resources → File Type of the File.
  4. Click Update.

Note

Save File

This saves Files attached to the EM Screen to the disk.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. If you want to save the File in a different Folder, locate and open the Folder, or, in the File Name box, type the name for the Folder.
  4. Click Save.

Note

Remove File

This removes a File from the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a File (a row) in the Files Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. Click Remove File in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Link File by Drag & Drop

This adds a File that is already attached to another record to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window visible in the Board.
  2. Make the other window that contains the record that has the File already attached active in the Board.
  3. Select a File (a row) in the Files Field of the other record, then drag and drop it into the Screen window's Title bar.

Add Image

This uploads one or more Images from the disk and attaches them to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  3. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is a typeable box for a description of the Image.
    • Format determines if one or more Images will be added. To set it, click on the Field, then click the format that you want to use.
      • File if only the selected Image will be added.
      • Folder if all the Images from the selected Folder will be added.
      • Folder with Subfolders if all the Images from the selected Folder and all the Subfolders will be added.
    • File Name is the allows one to browser for the desired file and contains the File or Folder name after it is chosen.
      • In the Look in drop-down, click the drive or Folder that contains the Files you want to add.
      • Specify whether the Format is a File, Folder, or Folder with Subfolders.
      • Click Select Image.
  4. Click Add Image.

Add Image from the Web

This takes an Image from the Web and attaches it to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  3. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the User label.
    • URL is the Web address of the Image. Only the HTTP URL scheme is supported, and it must include the 'http://' prefix.
  4. Click Add Image.

Display Image in the Board

This displays an Image attached to the EM Screen in the Board.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field, or
    • drag an Image (a row) from the Images Field to an open area of the Board and drop it, or
    • double-click on an Image (a row) in the Images Field.

Display Image in its Associated Application

This opens an Image attached to the EM Screen using its associated application .

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field, or
    • right-click on an Image (a row) in the Images Field.
  3. Click OK in the the 'Open with...' popup.

Edit Image User Label

This updates the User Label for an Image attached to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  3. Set the values in 'Edit Image Information' popup.
    • User Label is the user label.
  4. Click Update.

Note

Save Image

This saves Images, attached to the EM Screen, to the disk.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  3. If you want to save the Image in a different Folder, locate and open the Folder, or, in the File Name box, type the name for the Folder.
  4. Click Save.

Remove Image

This removes an Image from the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  3. Click Remove Image in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Link Image by Drag & Drop

This adds an Image already attached to a another record to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window visible in the Board.
  2. Make active, in the Board, the record with the Image already attached.
  3. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field of the other record, then drag and drop it into the Screen window's Title bar.

Add Info

This adds a new row to the Info table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Info Field.
  3. Enter data into the editable columns of the new row.

Note

Deletes Info

This removes the selected row from the Info table.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Info Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Info Field.
  3. Click Remove Info in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Email Info

This emails the selected Info to the User who created the EM Screen.

  1. Make the Employee Record window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Info Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Info Field.
  3. Click Send Email in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Add Linked Item by Drag & Drop

This explicitly links an item to the EM Screen.

  1. Make the EM Screen window visible in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • Drag and drop a tree node from the Search Results tree in the Main Window to the Screen window's Title bar OR
    • Drag and drop a row from the Linked Items Field of an Item already in the Board to the Screen window's Title bar.
  3. Click Yes in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Display Linked Item in the Board

This displays the Items linked to the EM Screen in the Board.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Alternatively, you can
    • select a row in the Linked Items Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Linked Items Field, or
    • drag a row from the Linked Items Field to an open area of the Board and drop it, or
    • double-click on a row in the Linked Items Field.

Unlink Linked Item

This removes an explicitly linked item from the Linked Items Field.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a row in the Linked Items Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Files Field.
  3. Click Unlink Item in the 'Are You Sure?' popup.

Note

Expand Protocol Tree Nodes

This expands all the nodes, starting from the selected node, in the Protocol Tree.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a node by clicking on its name, then click the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.

Note

Collapse Protocol Tree Child Nodes

This collapses the child nodes of the selected node in the Protocol Tree.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a node by clicking on its name, then click the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.

Add Protocol Tree Child Node

This adds a child node to a selected node in the Protocol Tree.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. If a Protocol Tree is present in the EM Screen record after a Lab Protocol has been selected, select a node by clicking on its name, then click the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.
  3. If no Protocol Tree has been designed for the selected Lab Protocol, select the empty Field representing the root node by clicking on it, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.
  4. Fill in the Node Name Field.
  5. Choose Input or Output from the Node I/O Type drop-down.
  6. Click the 'Set' button.

Add Protocol Tree Sibling Node

This adds a sibling node (a node at the same level in the tree) to a selected node in the Protocol Tree.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a node by clicking on its name, then click the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.
  3. Fill in the Node Name Field.
  4. Choose Input or Output from the Node I/O Type drop-down.
  5. Click the 'Set' button.

Note

Remove Protocol Tree Node

This removes the selected node from the Protocol Tree.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Select a node by clicking on its name, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Protocol Tree Field.
  3. Click the 'Delete Node' button in the 'Do you really want to delete the node?' popup.

Add Image (Scores)

This uploads one or more Images from the disk and attaches them to the selected droplet score.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  4. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is a typeable box for a description of the Image.
    • Format determines if one or more Images will be added. To set it, click on the Field, then click the format that you want to use.
      • File if only the selected Image will be added.
      • Folder if all the Images from the selected Folder will be added.
      • Folder with Subfolders if all the Images from the selected Folder and all the Subfolders will be added.
    • File Name is the allows one to browser for the desired file and contains the File or Folder name after it is chosen.
      • In the Look in drop-down, click the drive or Folder that contains the Files you want to add.
      • Specify whether the Format is a File, Folder, or Folder with Subfolders.
      • Click Select Image.
  5. Click Add Image.

Add Image from the Web (Scores)

This takes an Image from the Web and attaches it to the selected droplet score.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  4. Set the values in the 'Add Row' popup.
    • User Label is the User label.
    • URL is the Web address of the Image. Only the HTTP URL scheme is supported, and it must include the 'http://' prefix.
  5. Click Add Image.

Display Image in the Board (Scores)

This displays an Image attached to the selected droplet score in the Board.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Alternatively, you can
    • select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field, or
    • drag an Image (a row) from the Images Field to an open area of the Board and drop it, or
    • double-click on an Image (a row) in the Images Field.

Display Image in its Associated Application (Scores)

This opens an Image attached to the selected droplet score using its associated application .

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Alternatively, you can
    • select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field, or
    • right-click on an Image (a row) in the Images Field.
  4. Click OK in the the 'Open with...' popup.

Edit Image User Label (Scores)

This updates the User Label for an Image attached to the selected droplet score.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  4. Set the values in the 'Edit Image Information' popup.
  5. Click Update.

Note

Save Image (Scores)

This saves Images, attached to the selected droplet score, to the disk.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
  4. If you want to save the Image in a different Folder, locate and open the Folder, or, in the File Name box, type the name for the Folder.
  5. Click Save.

Note

Remove Image (Scores)

This removes an Image from the selected droplet score.

  1. Make the EM Screen window active in the Board.
  2. Click on the Scores tab then click on a droplet score.
  3. Select an Image (a row) in the Images Field, then click on the ICON button on the right side of the Images Field.
